The wedding between Colleen and Josh was a stunner from start to finish. Beautiful greens and florals, vintage glam inspired design, sprinkle a little Fyerfly magic and a wonderful team of photographers at Crickets Photography… The images speak for themselves!

Going into wedding day, our lighting design team began production bright and early in the morning. Starting with the assembly and installation of market lighting inside and outside of the Women’s Club, shedding some natural light in all the right area’s. Accompanied by amber uplighting for the beautiful pillars on the stone patio and inside of the Club to enhance the overall feel of the room, the stage was set.

Our Signature DJ Services was also provided, keeping the dance floor filled with smiling guests. Entertaining the crowd with blends of 80’s-2000’s top hits, the evening was filled with love in the air for Josh & Colleen.

As the night was coming to a close, the finale of the evening is where things really began to shine. Colleen & Josh were such a delightful couple, and to see how their Grand Exit photos turned out…It just really sums up the evening and showcased their love beautifully.

From all of us at FyerFly, we wish Colleen & Josh a wonderful life together and thank them for choosing our staff to be apart of their big day.

7 Top Mother and Son Dance Songs

Everyone loves a mama’s boy. Everyone loves music. Everyone loves a wedding. Wonder where I’m going with this? We’ve compiled a list that combines all three features together! “Top 7 Mother and Son Dance Songs” will answer any questions you could possibly have in this lifetime… about mother/ son dance songs of course. So sit tight, grab some popcorn and check out this blog.

1. A Song for Mama by Boyz II Men- “Mama you’re the queen of my heart.” I normally pride myself on being able to keep it together, but literally, every word in this song makes me want to snuggle up in my moms arms and cry. I know that sounds totally awkward, and it can be, but listen to this song and you’ll totally get it. This whole song is an ode to your mother, what could be a better song? Keep reading if you’re not satisfied.

2. The Perfect Fan by Backstreet Boys- “I wanna thank you for what you’ve done, in hopes I can give back to you, and be the perfect son.” Well, if that doesn’t say it all… I’ll say more. Chances are most of the bridesmaids will know this song so you can have your own personal background singers that you never asked for. “The Perfect Fan” will have so many fans, they’ll never forget that dance. I’ll try to refrain from any more cheesy lines today.

3. Simple Man by Shinedown- “You’ll find a woman, and you’ll find love.” This song is different in that it almost comes from the mother’s perspective. The lyrics go over how a mother would want any son to act, and chances are your hubby is everything this song describes. Hence, why he’s getting married!

4. Simply the Best by Tina Turner- “You’re simply the best, better than all the rest.” If you’re looking for more of an upbeat, fast paced song, here you go.“Simply the Best” will have your guests up out of their seats and dancing around the dancefloor. Key word being “around.” Elbow your guests off the dancefloor and send them to the outer perimeter because this is mom’s time to shine.

5. Over the Rainbow by Eva Cassidy- “The dreams that you dare to dream really do come true.” *Sigh* Who doesn’t want their dreams to come true? That was a rhetorical question and cheesy line number two. This is a different version of the classic “Somewhere Over the Rainbow” and is accompanied by a piano. It’s a perfect mother and son dance song because it has a nostalgic feel to it. You can reminisce with your mom while dancing. Multitasking!

6. I Will Always Love You by Whitney Houston- “And iiiiiiiiii yeee I will always love youuuuhoooo.” Everyone, I mean everyone, has sung this song at the top of their lungs. Thanks to the late, great Whitney Houston, we all have a classic song that can go with any occasion. The mother and son dance is no exception.

7. Stand By Me by Prince Royce- “Oh I won’t shed a tear, porque se que tu estas junto a mi.” I translated this line (thanks google translate!) and it means “because I know that you’re next to me.” Who doesn’t feel a total sense of comfort when their moms next to them? This version of “Stand By Me” just radiates salsa flavor, so why not embrace it? Hopefully you can actually dance, or else maybe this song isn’t good for you.

Top Wedding Songs of All Time

Orlando Wedding DJ and Lighting

Dun dun da duuuuuun. Dun dun da duuuum. If you couldn’t guess, that was me singing the wedding processional. It’s the moment when the groom first gets to see his bride, and the bride’s father realizes it’s time to give his baby girl away. Such an important moment requires the perfect accompaniment, music. The reception music can be just as important for your guests. If you remember a wedding reception you weren’t particularly fond of, think of the music that was played. Not your taste? Everyone knows that music can make or break any event.  You do not want your guests leaving telling everyone your wedding was boring. How do you avoid this? Take a look at our list of the top wedding songs of all time.

Wedding Ceremony…

Pre Ceremony Music- Something light, such as music by the Vitamin String Quartet, or similar artists to display the mood.

Groom/ Groomsmen Entrance- Something to compliment your pre ceremony music. We don’t want to startle grandma and start jamming out to “Baby Got Back”…or do we? If you are looking for a more modern take, a popular song has been Chris Brown’s “Forever” or Jason Mraz “I’m Yours.”

Bridesmaids Song- The traditional way to go is “Canon in D” but if you are looking for more of a shock factor you can steal the two from the groomsmen list, or another popular choice is “The Way You Make Me Feel” by Michael Jackson.

Bride’s Song- The classic entrance song is the Wedding Processional which you can never go wrong with. But if tradition is not your thing, a popular choice has also been “Marry Me” by Train.

For any of your ceremony songs, you can almost always find a beautiful string or instrumental version of your favorite song. This is a great way to go if you want a classic style with a modern twist.

Reception…

Wedding Party Intro Song- For most weddings, this is the moment that signals “it is time to let loose!” The most popular song for your wedding party to make their entrance is “I Gotta Feeling” by Black Eyed Peas. Another great song is “I’ll Be There for You” by the Rembrandts.

Bride/ Dad First Dance- It’s a tear jerking moment, therefore the song should reflect that. Popular choices include “I Loved Her First” by Heartland and “My Little Girl” by Tim McGraw.

Groom/ Mother First Dance- All eyes are on mom and son, what song are you going to choose? Rascal Flatts “My Wish” or “A Song for Mama” by Boyz II Men have been some crowd-pleasing favorites.

Bride/ Groom First Dance- This song will probably become “your song” for the rest of your lives, (no pressure). Etta James “At Last” is a classic, along with “Wonderful Tonight” by Eric Clapton.

Of course, there are endless possibilities to what songs you can use at your wedding. The best way to find the songs that best suit your wedding is to hire a DJ. They are experts at knowing all the latest songs, as well as timeless classics. Hiring a DJ is also a way to ensure your guests leave happy with their dancing legs (and maybe ego)  a little sore. I’m Engaged, Now What?

The holidays are over, and now Wedding Planning season has arrived! If you are newly engaged (congrats!), your head is probably spinning with everything you have to take care of before your big day. Luckily for you, we have compiled a list of five things every bride should keep in mind after the big engagement.

1. Set a Date – I know what you are thinking, and yes, it is early to come up with an exact wedding date. But, everyone is asking a lot of you and they want to know. Therefore, in order to pacify your friends and family, it’s important to come up with a date, even if it’s a specific month or year.  Have an answer ready, because you will be asked!

2. Hire a Wedding Planner- Stressed? We know. It is time to take a load off, and hire a wedding planner. This is a key way to semi relax during the planning process and ensure that your wedding is taken care of. Your planner will know every in and out of weddings and will be able to assist you with all aspects of your perfect day.

3. Start a Wedding Savings Account- Weddings can be expensive. To make sure you don’t end up in debt, start a savings account specifically put aside for your wedding. An easy way to save up some cash flow is to take money out of every paycheck and put it in a a separate account. Setting aside a little can add up to a lot.

4. Pick a Venue- What kind of wedding are you trying to create? The venue you pick sets the mood for your wedding. Hard to find the perfect venue? Refer to tip number two. Hire a wedding planner, they have all the contacts for venues and can get your message across with the kind of wedding you want to portray. After you pick your venue, you can finally pick an official date!

5. Make a Guest List- Big wedding? Small wedding? Either or, it is imperative to come up with a guest list. Realize that every person you invite will cost money. This is the best way to come up with excuses of why Great Aunt Becky can’t come to your wedding (just kidding).   Your guest list will help you and your planner decide the perfect venue for your size wedding while factoring in how much you need to save in your savings account.

After you have completed these 5 important steps, your foot is in the door so you and your wedding planner can start figuring out all the smaller details, such as an awesome DJ! (wink wink) Once again, congrats on your engagement! Now it’s time to get planning! Good Luck.
