We were so honored to DJ this amazing wedding. The reception stayed alive and exhilarating all night as the guests showed the new couple all of their killer dance moves. Dun dun da duuuuuun. Dun dun da duuuum. If you couldn’t guess, that was me singing the wedding processional. It’s the moment when the groom first gets to see his bride, and the bride’s father realizes it’s time to give his baby girl away. Such an important moment requires the perfect accompaniment, music. The reception music can be just as important for your guests. If you remember a wedding reception you weren’t particularly fond of, think of the music that was played. Not your taste? Everyone knows that music can make or break any event. You do not want your guests leaving telling everyone your wedding was boring. How do you avoid this? Pre Ceremony Music- Something light, such as music by the Vitamin String Quartet, or similar artists to display the mood.
Groom/ Groomsmen Entrance- Something to compliment your pre ceremony music. We don’t want to startle grandma and start jamming out to “Baby Got Back”…or do we? If you are looking for a more modern take, a popular song has been Chris Brown’s “Forever” or Jason Mraz “I’m Yours.”
Bridesmaids Song- The traditional way to go is “Canon in D” but if you are looking for more of a shock factor you can steal the two from the groomsmen list, or another popular choice is “The Way You Make Me Feel” by Michael Jackson.
Bride’s Song- The classic entrance song is the Wedding Processional which you can never go wrong with. But if tradition is not your thing, a popular choice has also been “Marry Me” by Train.
For any of your ceremony songs, you can almost always find a beautiful string or instrumental version of your favorite song. This is a great way to go if you want a classic style with a modern twist.
Wedding Party Intro Song- For most weddings, this is the moment that signals “it is time to let loose!” The most popular song for your wedding party to make their entrance is “I Gotta Feeling” by Black Eyed Peas. Another great song is “I’ll Be There for You” by the Rembrandts.
Bride/ Dad First Dance- It’s a tear jerking moment, therefore the song should reflect that. Popular choices include “I Loved Her First” by Heartland and “My Little Girl” by Tim McGraw.
Groom/ Mother First Dance- All eyes are on mom and son, what song are you going to choose? Rascal Flatts “My Wish” or “A Song for Mama” by Boyz II Men have been some crowd-pleasing favorites.
Bride/ Groom First Dance- This song will probably become “your song” for the rest of your lives, (no pressure). Etta James “At Last” is a classic, along with “Wonderful Tonight” by Eric Clapton.

The holidays are over, and now Wedding Planning season has arrived! If you are newly engaged (congrats!), your head is probably spinning with everything you have to take care of before your big day. Luckily for you, we have compiled a list of five things every bride should keep in mind after the big engagement.
1. Set a Date – I know what you are thinking, and yes, it is early to come up with an exact wedding date. But, everyone is asking a lot of you and they want to know. Therefore, in order to pacify your friends and family, it’s important to come up with a date, even if it’s a specific month or year. Have an answer ready, because you will be asked!
2. Hire a Wedding Planner- Stressed? We know. It is time to take a load off, and hire a wedding planner. This is a key way to semi relax during the planning process and ensure that your wedding is taken care of. Your planner will know every in and out of weddings and will be able to assist you with all aspects of your perfect day.
3. Start a Wedding Savings Account- Weddings can be expensive. To make sure you don’t end up in debt, start a savings account specifically put aside for your wedding. An easy way to save up some cash flow is to take money out of every paycheck and put it in a a separate account. Setting aside a little can add up to a lot.
4. Pick a Venue- What kind of wedding are you trying to create? The venue you pick sets the mood for your wedding. Hard to find the perfect venue? Refer to tip number two. Hire a wedding planner, they have all the contacts for venues and can get your message across with the kind of wedding you want to portray. After you pick your venue, you can finally pick an official date!
5. Make a Guest List- Big wedding? Small wedding? Either or, it is imperative to come up with a guest list. Realize that every person you invite will cost money. This is the best way to come up with excuses of why Great Aunt Becky can’t come to your wedding (just kidding). Your guest list will help you and your planner decide the perfect venue for your size wedding while factoring in how much you need to save in your savings account.
